Sean Pisanos SkillsSkills & Expertise

Appearance, Purpose, and Usability.

I have the ability to build websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Flash this give you a sense of the mechanics I can implement. However I am more than the sum of my parts.

I am best suited working with my clients to establish purpose, appearance, and usability. I guide my clients through the process of building of their website, it’s marketing on social networks and it’s search engine optimization (SEO). Optimization that I implement to get their sites to the top off search engine listing.

Along the way I teach my clients how to use the content management system (CMS) that I have installed, giving them the ability to manage their site without my assistance. Most of the time I find WordPress to be a sufficient CMS, however Drupal and Joomla are pretty effective as well.

Sean Pisano ToolsWeb Design Tools:

Graphics, Code, and Management.

Graphics: Since the look and feel of your website will help attract your audience and communicate with vistors using top of the line tools to create your graphics will help insure a high quility site. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and Flash are just a few of the tools that I have become an expert at using.

Code: Code is the heart of a website. It determines how a website looks but also how a website functions. I am an expert at using Notepad++, CodeLobster, HAPedit, and Adobe Dreamweaver to write HTML, XHTML, CSS, DHTML, PHP and MySQL. To ensure that a website is universally accessible and can be viewed the same way across all browsers, I validate the code against w3c web standards and check the code on over 20 browsers, on windows and mac computers.

Management: Using content management systems like WordPress, allows the client to update the content of their site without haveing to relay on a web master. Incorporating such cost effective tools into a client’s website helps to save them time and money.

Design Process:

Steps for Creating Beautiful, Accessible, and Validated Sites.

Site Purpose: At the start of every collaboration, I work with the client to explore their goals for the site and what they want the user to experience. These goals are then used to develop the content and structure of your website. Purpose and content also determine your search engine ranking, or the number of people able to find your site. My search engine optimization skills can help in crafting content that gets a site to the top of major search engines increasing the number of vistors to your site.

Site Vistors: When developing a website you need to understand the audience of the website. The audience determines the content, color, text, size and functionality of the website.

Color and Typography: It might sound small but color can make or break a website. Once you know what kind of site you are building and who the audience is determining color and typographybecomes much easier. A business website would not use the same colors as a social network website. As far as typography is concerned a website with allot of text and reading material would use a sans-serif text while a more art oriented site would use a fancier serif text.
